I Can’t Stop Thinking…

About what this world could be like if we had no labels, if we had life with no fear of being judged for what we look like or what we prefer, if everyone was truly equal, if the laws made sense but mostly… if more people cared about this. Thank you for taking time to read this.

"Friends are like television. Some are like PBS and always asking for money. Others are like the news, with sad tales to tell everyday, some are like that one station with the foreign language; you don’t understand a word of it but you listen and watch anyway. And then there are the ones like the commercials, always changes, ever-so-annoying and only seem to be there when you are bored. But every once in a while you meet someone who’s like a really good movie of the week or that one tv show you hardly ever get to see anymore because you’re so busy. My point is hold on to the friends you care about and since we don’t have a remote control to mute someone or just change the channel, pick your friends carefully."

"I’ve come to the frightening conclusioin that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or de-humanized."
